About Brendon

"Listening to Paintings - Australia"

In 1997, Brendon and Julie embarked on a new project, "Listening To Paintings - Australia", which they anticipated would take 2 - 3 years to complete. As the name suggests, this endeavour has taken them all over Australia in an attempt to describe its incredible variety with both paint and music and to document the process on video.

Ten years on and the ten locations have been visited. The paintings, music and DVD production have been completed.

"Listening To Paintings - Australia" opened at the Museum of Natural History in New York on Jan 16 2007 as part of Australia Week celebrations. It then travelled to Houston as part of "Celebration of Australia 2007".

"Listening To Paintings - Australia" was on show at JP Morgan Chase Bank from 22 -26 January 2007 and was featured at a gala dinner on 27th January at the Derek Hotel in Houston.

An exhibition of new works on paper from the exhibition "Listening To Paintings - Australia" was also on show for 1 month in January 2007 at the Booker Lowe Gallery
